Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s multi-million-dollar deal with Netflix is coming under scrutiny once again as the couple risks losing the lucrative contract.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought in great numbers and revenue for the streaming giant in 2021 with their bombshell docuseries, Harry & Meghan, which also brought the couple much fame.
However, now, a royal author predicts that Netflix bosses are growing tired of Harry and Meghan’s antics and they may consider cancelling the contract all together.
“The documentary was six episodes, full of grumbles and gruffs – that did phenomenally well, but nothing else has,” royal author Angela Levin told GB News.
“[Netflix] is not really keen on her cooking or Harry doing polo or her jam, it’s not original enough. It won’t be until next February at the earliest that they can do anything.”
Levin explained that the Sussex team, who recently wrapped their four-day trip to Colombia, may have jeopardised their only good deal left, following the cancelled Spotify deal, as they are unable to focus on their end of the bargain, which has irked the streaming giant.
“Technically they have messed up completely, because they haven’t done it properly,” the author said, adding that their recent ‘quasi-royal’ tours are also a contributing factor.
“Netflix is fed up and they’ve got lots of other things on their line that they can do. So, I think they’re not going to renew the $100,000 to keep them going.”
