Barry Keoghan made some surprising revelations about the cinephiles’ favourite movie of last year, Saltburn.
The movie which captures some really bold scenes is apparently filmed without the help of any prosthetics, as Keoghan shared in The Louis Theroux Podcast on Monday, November 4th.
The host mentioned the speculations about prosthetics being used to “enhance” the dance scene towards the end of the film but Keoghan denied that any such thing happened.
“Enhanced? Who said that? Nah, wow,” he clarified.
“It was all me. […] it was a thing that I didn’t really bat an eyelid to, you know, I would bat an eyelid if it didn’t fit the story.”
The infamous scene showed the 32-year-old actor’s character dancing after he had acquired an estate he had been after for a long time.
The Banshees of Inisherin actor explained that the scene required such an act of boldness to showcase the character’s ownership more evidently.
“He’s kind of got this mansion at the end, it’s his space. And when you have that space … we all do it at home: we walk around naked, do you know what I mean? Because we’re comfy and this is our environment,” he added.
The dad of one shared that he himself holds an admiration for the scene, adding, “It’s just beautiful to look at that […] but to watch the body of someone run through rooms like that, it’s like a painting almost.”
This comes after the actor previously told EW that he felt a little hesitation in the beginning but then “it felt right.”
Sharing how he got over the discomfort he added, “You kind of forget, because there’s such a comfortable environment created, and it gives you that license to go, ‘All right, this is about the story now.’”
