New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge became the fastest player in Major League Baseball history to reach 300 career home runs on Wednesday. Judge achieved this milestone with a three-run homer in the eighth inning against the Chicago White Sox, marking his 955th regular-season game, just one day after the eighth anniversary of his MLB debut.

He surpassed the previous record set by Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner, who reached 300 homers in his 1,087th game.

Judge is now the 162nd player in history to reach 300 home runs and the 17th to do so while playing for the Yankees. Among active players, his total ranks 13th.

During the game, with the Yankees leading 6-2 and Juan Soto having been intentionally walked, Judge hit a 3-0 pitch from Chad Kuhl into the Chicago bullpen, extending the Yankees’ lead. Reflecting on the moment, Judge said, “I was mad about the intentional walk, so that kind of fueled me. Usually 3-0, I’ll take a pitch, but in that situation, if they don’t want to pitch to you, you got to come through.”

The Yankees went on to win the game 10-2.
