Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are trying a new matching look for their upcoming movie.

The longtime friends and creative partners are both growing out their beards while filming their latest project, RIP, a crime thriller that’s currently in production.

During an interview with ExtraTV, Damon, 54, joked about the bearded look, saying, “Well, we’re in the middle of [filming] it, that’s why we’re bearded.”

Affleck, 52, chimed in, playfully rubbing his own beard and adding, “Yes, everything you need to know, you can see right here.”

Though they kept plot details of RIP under wraps, they did tease that fans can expect the Netflix film to arrive next year. “We’ve made eight movies now in a couple of years [with Artists Equity],” Affleck explained, “and this is our first partnership with Netflix… but we all are very excited about it.”

RIP is expected to be an intense addition to the duo’s impressive lineup of collaborations. It is directed by Joe Carnahan and written by Joe Carnahan.

Affleck and Damon’s friendship dates back over 40 years, to their school days in Boston, and their professional journey together began with the Oscar-winning Good Will Hunting.

Their close bond and enduring creative partnership have since brought them together on numerous projects, from The Last Duel to their latest venture, Artists Equity, which is leading RIP into production.
