Located along the coast of East Africa, Tanzania is home to some of Africa’s most famous national parks and attractions. From gazing in awe at the exotic wildlife and breathtaking landscapes to attempting to trek to the Mount Kilimanjaro peak and relaxing at white sand beaches, the place has something for everyone. Over time, Tanzania has become one of the best-known places in Africa, boasting a burgeoning and booming tourism industry.

Recently, Bollywood actress Ananya Panday also hopped on to Ngorongoro Conservation Area to unwind and relax. After her jam-packed schedule, she went on an exhilarating and adventurous trip, and her social media pictures are proof of the fun she had. On Thursday, the actress took to her Instagram and offered an array of pictures and videos, giving fans a glimpse of her adrenaline-fuelled time.

The pictures of her jungle safari show her getting real up close to lions, elephants and giraffes, while also enjoying the majestic grasslands, streams and sunsets. “Took a walk on the wild side,” Ananya Panday wrote, sharing the Instagram post.

If her pictures are making you pack your bags and visit Tanzania, look no further! Here are some top Tanzania travel destinations to add to your travel itinerary:

    Mount Kilimanjaro

One of the most famous attractions in Tanzania is Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the highest peak on the continent and stands fourth on the list of the Seven Summits (highest peaks from each continent). Sitting at roughly 19,340 feet tall, along its northern border with Kenya, the largest mountain in Africa looms over the vast plains of the African savannah. For those who do not want to go hiking, visit the national park nearby. The best part about this park is that the view of the snow-capped colossal mountain is visible from Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. Visitors stand in awe of the spectacular views and spot animals like leopards, buffaloes and elephants in the surrounding areas.

    Serengeti National Park

Another wonderful African location in Tanzania that is worth exploring is the Serengeti National Park. More than 100,000 people visit the Serengeti every year to witness the Great African Migration. Lions, rhinoceroses, buffalos, leopards and gazelles make up just a fraction of the vast wildlife the Serengeti has to offer. The park covers a huge 5,700 square miles of grassland plains, as well as savanna. Trust us, the heart-thumping magnitude of the migration feels like a goosebumps-worthy moment to watch.

    Ngorongoro Conservation Area

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the best places to spot Africa’s ‘Big Five’ — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. The area also includes the giant Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s largest inactive volcanic calderas. The Ngorongoro crater is shaped like a large bowl-like depression, made by the volcano collapse after an eruption. These large calderas often fill with rainwater, forming beautiful lakes. If you want to experience a more traditional safari, the surrounding area is the perfect place to go teeming with wildlife. Stay at a resort or spend time under the swooning sky in campsites set up throughout the park in the middle of the wilderness.

    Lake Manyara National Park

For those wanting to get a closer look at the spectacular African wildlife, visit Lake Manyara National Park in the north of Tanzania. Visitors get the chance to observe curious giraffes, herds of elephants, and even lion pride. If you are done exploring the wildlife in a traditional way, opt for the treetop canopy walk available in some places. This new and unique way of viewing different kinds of primates and exotic birds makes it a great place to embrace nature with friends and family.

    Zanzibar

After capturing the big five and watching the wildlife up close, hop on to Zanzibar Island. Located 35 km from the coast of Africa, the white Zanzibar beaches are a must-see while you are there. With their beautiful white sand, turquoise water and swaying palm trees, the island is one of the most picturesque locations in all of Africa. Here you can enjoy leisure activities, including diving or snorkelling. Also travel to the stone town, the old part of the historical Zanzibar City, known for its scenic alleyways and townhouses.
