Reuters broke news over the weekend on the launch of Donald Trump’s new social media venture, Truth Social. Reuters exclusively reported key details on how the app works and what wasn’t working a week before the launch. The reporting, based on beta testers of the app invited to the service a week before the launch, gave readers an exclusive glimpse at the closely scrutinized project from the former U.S. president. Reuters had previously reported the launch date even as executives said publicly it would not launch until much later.

    Market Impact

Shares of Digital World, the special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) expected to merge with Trump Media and Technology Group, surged 26% following the news.
